The Havahart® electric fence conditions your pet or dog to avoid the area. It is used to break your pet’s
bad habits and keep them fenced in - it delivers a mild shock, deterring animals from the area. The electric fence system
is ideal to deter pests from entering your yard or garden.
How It Works
The SS-2D electric fence energizer emits an intermittent output pulse which
is mild yet unpleasant. An animal that has experienced the mild shock from
the SS-2D several times may eventually avoid the electric fence altogether.
The Havahart® electric fence system is made up of several key components: the
electric fence energizer, the transmission lines (fence wire), fence posts
with insulators, and the grounding path (earth). The animal provides the
final link to complete the electrical path.
An electric fencing system presents a mental barier to an animal rather than a physical
barrier. An animal that has experienced the electrical fence will respect it. The electric fence energizer
produces an electrical pulse that travels through the lead-out wire into the wire(s). The electricity then
flows through the animal’s body into the soil and back to the ground rod which is connected to
the energizer’s ground terminal.
Specifications
The SS-2KX electric fence system is designed for quick and easy installation. It
can be connected to the wires of an existing electric fence or you can easily build a new fence
using the SS-2KX electric fence kit. The kit contains everything you need to build your own fence: energizer, fence wire,
fence poles, ground rod, clamps, tester etc. The SS-2D
energizer is powered by two standard D-cell batteries.
The batteries last approximately two months. Accessories such as additional fence wire, extra
poles and a solar energizer are available separately.
